SARAH LAPORTO

Sarah LaPorto grew up in Windsor, Connecticut and began dancing at the age of three with Connecticut Concert Ballet under the direction of Wendy Fish-Lawrence and David Lawrence. During her training, she performed in annual productions of The Nutcracker, as well as a wide range of classical ballets. Sarah has earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ballet Pedagogy at The Hartt School Dance Division at the University of Hartford. While at Hartt, she expanded her range of styles beyond classical ballet to include contemporary, jazz, and modern dance and performed in master works of Marius Petipa, Joseph Mazilier, Julius Reisinger, and August Bournonville. Sarah has also been invited to perform with The Hartt School Music Theater Division dancing in works by faculty, student and guest choreographers such as Ralph Perkins and Milana Rae including the works; Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Bob Fosse’s Rich Man’s Frug, Dance at the Gym, Room Where it Happens and A Chorus Line. During the summers, Sarah has attended intensive programs with Orlando Ballet, Hartt School Community Division, and Ballet Hartford, and has worked as a Program Assistant with The John Cranko School. Sarah is excited to join Ballet Hartford for her first season!
