Open Artists Day

Stay tuned for Fall 2024!

At Ballet Hartford, not only are we committed to sharing excellent dance, but we take great pride in supporting and partnering with local visual artists.

Through our Open Artist's Day led by Resident Visual Artist Aubrey Feliciano, local artists are welcomed into Ballet Hartford's studio and invited to explore their artistic discipline as dancers take class and rehearse. As artists support artists, each event culminates with an open dialogue and sharing of experience.

"Dance has greatly influenced my life and visual artwork. When I was training in ballet, I would bring a sketchpad to rehearsal. Through closer observation, I learned so much about what made this performing art form so incredible. Not only were my drawing skills improved, but my own dancing as well. I realized that in order to appear graceful, a dancer must be incredibly strong in body and in mind. This is what I seek to communicate in my work to this day through different styles of drawing, and with varying mediums.

“Connecting with Ballet Hartford has been such a blessing, and it was an amazing experience being part of Awakening last year. It gave me the opportunity to be back on stage again, but this time expressing my love for movement through live drawing. I look forward to the future of this festival and how different art forms can be intertwined to create a unique experience for both the artists and the audience."
