School of Ballet Hartford Policies

Registration

-Families are required to pay a non-refundable $40 annual fee to  solidify class placement. 

-Class sizes are limited. If a class is full, you will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot opens

-Trial classes are required for new families and can be arranged by emailing hbush@ballethartford.com

Refunds / Injuries

-There are NO refunds should a student change their mind about participation

-Injuries will require a doctor’s note for a refund or tuition credit to take place (upon a Director’s approval).

-It is understood that the risk of physical injury is inherent in dance training. Ballet Hartford strives to reduce that risk through proper training techniques. However. with registration it is understood the participant/guardian is willing to assume those risks and release, hold harmless and indemnify Ballet Hartford, its related entities, agents, employees, officers and representative from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, judgments which the undersigned, or any other person ever had to may have against Ballet Hartford for any losses, costs and expenses (including Attorney’s fees) and damages or injuries known or unknown, real or personal, sustained by me or my shield while in attendance and /or participating in all Ballet Hartford programs. The participant/guardian also agrees that he or she will not hold Ballet Hartford responsible for the loss or damage of personal property while in attendance and/or participating in any of these programs.

Payment

- 25% of the semester tuition is due by the first class (unless a trial class has been arranged)

-The School of Ballet Hartford has the right to charge a card on file if payment has not been submitted by the required deadline.

Etiquette

-If a student’s behavior is hindering any SBH class, faculty and staff have the right to withhold participation after speaking with the family.

-Students are expected to respect teachers and SBH faculty at all times. We believe joy and discipline can and should co-exist in all classes.

-With registration, I am aware that dance is a physical contact art and often times includes tactile learning. I acknowledge that School of Ballet Hartford teachers and faculty members will use physical touch when necessary or most beneficial to the students' progress and understanding.

Cancellations

-SBH will make a decision to cancel classes due to inclement weather at least 3 hours prior to class. *Please note we typically follow the Hartford School system for closures*

Cell Phones and Electronic Devices

-Students are not permitted to be on a cell phone or electronic device during class time. Phone and devices should be off or on silent and remain in a dance bag. If a student needs to check their phone for any reason (during or in between classes), they need permission from the teacher. 

Videography/ Photography

-SBH does not permit parents/family or friends to take photos or videos when students are in class. Please do not take any photos or videos from the hallway.

Parent Responsibility

-Teachers are responsible for students' care during class time. Before and after class, a parent or guardian must be present with all students. 

*Creative Movement and Pre- Ballet students are required to have a parent or guardian in the building during class time.
