Alizah Wilson

PAST CHOREOGRAPHER

Alizah Wilson grew up in Dallas, Texas, and started her ballet training when she was five years old. She studied for ten years at the Dallas Ballet Center under the instruction of Brent and Judy Klopfenstein, where she also taught as a faculty member for five years after high school. She attended summer courses at Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She started her education at Belhaven University and then went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University with a B.F.A. in dance performance, where she performed works by George Balanchine, Danny Buraczeski, and Dwight Rhoden. After graduating, Alizah danced for three seasons with Ballet Dallas, where she was featured in works by Silas Farley, Carter Alexander, and George Skibine. She has performed in projects with Zion Dance Project, AKA Ballet, Met Live Arts, and Guggenheim’s Works & Process. Currently, Alizah teaches and choreographs for the Washington Ballet School in Washington, DC, while working for a non-profit on Capitol Hill. Alizah’s Choreography experience started in high school, and she has had works performed in Regional Dance America, Meadows School for the Arts, and Dallas Ballet Company.
