Enjoy this festive performance featuring excerpts of The Nutcracker performed by Ballet Hartford and its Pre-Professional Division. Journey with Clara to the Land of the Sweets alongside an inspirational lecture about the history of this beloved, holiday classic. If inclined, please bring canned or shelved goods as a part of Ballet Hartford’s fundraiser for local social service nonprofit organization: Hands on Hartford.

Join Ballet Hartford at the Wadsworth Mansion for an afternoon of The Nutcracker: Short and Suite. Journey with Clara as she’s swept away to the Land of Sweets and embrace the holiday spirit with cookies, cocoa, and ballerina crafts. Be sure to wear your holiday best for meet-and-greet photos with the dancers!

Ballet Hartford presents a thrilling bill of an abbreviated version of the charming, comedic ballet, “Coppelia,” alongside repertoire from local and national choreographers. Interspersed in “Coppelia” and presenting repertoire of their own, come enjoy the beautiful dancing of Ballet Hartford’s Pre-Professional Division as well!

Awakening Festival

Date: 3rd September, 2021

Location: Bushnell Park Band Shell

Ballet Hartford holds its inaugural summer festival, Awakening, inviting local choreographers and dancers (both students and professionals) to participate in a ten day incubator: generating and inspiring new choreographic work. The ten day rehearsal period culminates with an open-air performance, free to the public, at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 9/3. 

 Awakening is supported in part by Summer in the City, a program of the Greater Hartford Arts Council and the city of Hartford with funding from Raytheon Technologies.

Columns Dance Festival 

Date: 10th July, 2021

Location: Bushnell Park Band Shell

The company is honored to be invited again at Columns Dance Festival for its second annual celebration at Bushnell Park. Come see two of our recent works performed on the outdoor amphitheater, alongside Pilobolus and other CT based companies. Join Artistic Director, Leyna Doran, for a ballet class taught onstage from 3:00-4:00 p.m. before the performance.


Spring Performance 

Date: 7th & 8th May, 2021

This concert premieres work by choreographers Gilbert Bolden III, Kevin Jenkins, Danielle Diniz, Vincent Hardy, and Stephanie Gagliardi. With two works recorded by Yale University’s oldest a capella group: The Yale Alley Cats, we are delighted to share this light-hearted, captivating performance.
